Beehive
community
(BHC)
The Beehive Hive Community (BHC) is a unique integrated village developed by an
international consortium for the rehabilitation of veterans affected by the war in Ukraine.
the idea to create a BHC in Ukraine was conceived by the President of the EU, Dr Ursula von
der Leyen
Beehive Communities eng.- (‘Beehive Communities’, ‘BNC’) is a type of settlement
community. In the Beehive Community, the V2V Consortium helps veterans of the Ukrainian-Russian war to
rehabilitate and return to full life in society.
In Ukraine, around 940,000 veterans
will struggle to find their place in civilian life after the war. Around 420,000 of them
will suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder with problems in finding work, housing,
income, medical and social services, and, ultimately, human support.
The idea of the
need to create a national emergency centre in Ukraine belongs to the EU President. The
EU President expressed her vision of Ukraine's future in a
speech
and
video of the speech during the anniversary celebrations of the
social settlement - Fuggerei, Germany. This oldest social settlement in the world has
been operating continuously for 500 years (link to the Fuggerei website).
According to
the EU President, the creation of this type of settlement-community in Ukraine could
help revive society after the war. According to the vision of EU President Ursula von
Laehn, the BHC settlement being created in Uzhkarpattia (like Fuggerei) is intended to
provide Ukrainian veterans with the following types of rehabilitation:
